Your Fall Hair Survival Guide

How to keep your color gorgeous when the weather gets weird.

1. The #1 fall hair culprit: dryness

Cooler air + indoor heat can leave your hair feeling rougher, drier, and a little less shiny than usual. This is where your deep conditioning treatment + consistent at-home care really matter.

Stylist advice: Grab a travel size of the Oi Hair Butter & use it once a week.

Fine-haired girlies? Start with twice a month+ apply mids to ends.

Think: my hair is THIRSTY.

it needs the hair butter.

2. Your blonde doesn't have to go dark for fall.

Fall does NOT automatically mean going darker. If you love your blonde, let’s keep it blonde! We can shift the tone, add dimension, or simply refresh what's already there.

lets do a poll.

Be Honest: how well do you know your water?

  • I know I have hard water.

  • I've definitely noticed buildup/brassiness

  • my water is clean as a whistle

  • Honestly? No idea

3. PLOT TWIST: Your shower water matters.

Okay, this one might surprise you.

The water coming out of your shower can leave behind minerals and metals that build up on the hair over time. especially if you have hard water.

And yes… your hair can notice.

Mineral buildup can make hair feel dull, dry, rough, or harder to style. For blondes, it can also contribute to unwanted warmth and brassiness.

That’s why we’ve been paying extra attention to chelating + metal-removing treatments.

-A metal detox treatment-

is one of our favorites to use in-salon when we want to give the hair a serious reset and remove buildup when we color.

And for at-home maintenance, Davines Heart of Glass is a great option for our blondes.

It’s a gentle chelating shampoo that helps remove unwanted metal buildup while the plant-based blue pigment helps keep brassiness in check.

Think:

cleaner. brighter. cooler.

Without feeling like you just washed your hair in purple shampoo.

And if your blonde has suddenly started looking a little… weird?

Your water might be part of the problem. 👀

4. Your fall hair survival plan

The good news? You don't need to completely change your hair routine for fall.

Just pay attention to what your hair is asking for.

  • If it feels dry → add moisture.

  • If your blonde feels too warm → talk to us about a gloss, or snatch the right shampoo

  • If your hair feels dull, rough, or just a little… off → it might be buildup.

This month's Rooted Insider pick:

Oi Hair Butter for your shower routine + Metal Detox when your hair needs a deeper reset in the salon.

Because keeping your fall hair gorgeous isn't always about changing your color.

Sometimes it's about taking better care of the hair you already have.

And if your blonde has suddenly started looking a little… weird?

Maybe ask yourself:

“How well do I know my water?” 🚿
